The Pin and Bookmark
This is the text on the bookmark:This pin is a heartfelt reminder to those whom we meet in our daily lives that we are grieving for a loved one now gone.
Just as, in earlier days, people wore black (white in parts of Asia) to signify mourning, so this black and white pin is a silent request to those around us to be patient and understanding as we make our way through this time of sorrow -- no matter how long it takes. To bear with us if we do not appear to be ourselves, or forget appointments and where we put things, or are quick to sudden, unannounced tears.
Through the wearing of this pin, may we gently educate those around us who may not have experienced such a loss, to be gentle and quietly understanding of those of us who have.
May the blessings of peace be with you. Doris Hicks-Tillman is the creator of Heartfelt Reminders. You may contact her by clicking on the mailbox icon below or sending email directly to heartfelt@heartfeltreminders.com. |
